Location of wires for brake lights and third brake light

Disclaimer: I am completely new to this, and have very little experience with wiring!

So I went ahead and bought Kahteck Blinking Smart Stop lights. Now the wiring diagram they provided was simple enough and the instructions provided were straight forward.

Now, before I pull all the trunk lining of, I wanted to make sure, that wires I would have to tap into were all located behind trunk lining itself, and none in the boot.

If someone could point me to where these wires are located, that would really help. I looked at some of the electrical diagrams that you can find on service manual floating around, but there are none which shows the physical location of the wires that I need to tap into.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, everything you need is behind the trunk liner. The 3rd brake light is a 2-wire connector and there's a lot of space around it to get at everything. And, if you can avoid it, don't use those crappy vampire connectors they supply. You should solder and heatshrink everything. Our cars see a lot more vibration than your average soccer-mom-mobile.

Ah that is perfect. Thanks for that. Yeah, I will make sure I can tuck it and pack it to the best of my abilities so that it doesnt fall of due to vibs.
For now I am going to wire only the 3rd Brake light (that will be the only one blinking). After buying it, I feel that maybe all three brake lights blinking (left, right and 3rd) maybe too much for the driver behind.
But if I wanted to get to those wires, do you know if those are present are behind the trunk liner as well?

I would strongly recommend against blinking all 3. Flashing red lights in general can be illegal in many states so it's not worth drawing that much attention to your car every time you brake.

But, to answer your question, no the left/right brake lights are not in the trunk liner. They are behind the panel on either side and would pose quite the wiring job as you would have to run them up the trunk hinge frame and under the liner from each tail light to the module without getting the wires pinched.

Ah yes, I know, I was just trying to find out about the legality of all the lights blinking, but like you mentioned, its not worth the attention it would draw.
Ok yeah, I understand. I thought as much, I will wire in just the third brake light to blink then.
The part should have been delivered by now. I want to get it done this weekend and then I shall post a video!
Thanks for the help, much appreciated!
