Engine whine from speakers

Hey all,

Just installed a new head unit and amp, I get engine whine from speakers and it's louder when AC/heat is on. Any idea how I can stop this? The head unit and amp are both grounded. I'm not entirely sure what my next steps should be.

Try moving your signal wires away from any power wires

I had some pretty bad noise in a focus years ago- turns out it was caused because one of my speaker wires was ripped and contacting a clip- which was touching the body of the vehicle. Once I pulled it off- the noise went away.

UPDATE: I took my car to a buddy who ran the propper gauge wire for power/ground to the amp. The whine is gone, but now there's some really ****ty crackling/popping sounds coming out of all my speakers. I don't know what to do - I've pulled each speaker to see if it was due to one being blown, I pulled the front/rear RCA's out of the amp (tried to pull speakers out of the loop to see if it was coming from one specific location), but it continues to do it. It's a constant noise, even when there's no music playing.

I'm at a loss.
