I am looking to add the OEM back-up camera to my 11 Evo MR. My current dilemma is that camera MZ380462EX has been discontinued (which was available for 08-14 Lancers including all Evo models). The other OEM camera I have found 8781A053 IS available, but parts site states it is NOT compatible with my 11 Evo, but IS compatible with the 12 Evo and on. So my question is shouldn't this camera be compatible if the discontinued camera is compatible with (my 11) 12, 13, and 14 model years and the other 8781 camera is also compatible with 12, 13, 14 and beyond model year Evos? Can anyone confirm this or tell me what I'm missing? I hope this makes sense.. *sad face... Does it have to do with the RF MMCS Navigation system? (Which I have)

 

I tried to order the OEM backup camera in the past too, but couldn't get my hands on one. So I spoke to an audio shop, and they installed a Kenwood CMOS-220 (basically the old version of CMOS-230) backup camera for my Evo X. It worked perfectly like OEM. The camera was mounted above the top of the rear license plate.

 

I know this is old, but just in case anyone stumbles on this thread looking for an answer. I just tested it and the base model Lancer camera, part# 8781A053, works with my 2012 Evo X MMCS (N-05).

Instead of buying the Evo X OEM camera, part# MZ380462EX, which is discontinued, I bought a base model Lancer OEM camera and it worked. You will need to buy the OEM Evo X MMCS camera harness, part# MZ607384EX, which was backordered, but came in after a month from Japan.

 

I got my Autovox license plate camera to work on the OEM Rockford Fosgate Navi with this adapter.

I had no issues, only thing I had to do was turn off the graphic on the navi screen so I would only see the camera's backup guide graphic.

 

Nice! Yea that is something I could use. I do have a alibaba backup camera from previous owner, could make that work with this!
