Battery Replacement
Battery Replacement
I know this has probably been asked 8 million times but I cannot seem to find a replacement for my OEM battery at any auto parts store. 2014 Evo X MR. Any time I go to any website (autozone, advanced, oreillys, etc) and every time it tells me they don’t have any batteries that would fit my car. It’s not dead yet but I can tell it’s starting to be on its last legs and I’d rather replace it sooner rather than later. Can anybody tell me where I can find a replacement and how much? The guy at autozone quoted me almost $400 for a battery that they didn’t even have in stock in the whole system. I’m just looking for a battery that won’t break the bank but will still start under stress (Colorado winter gets gnarly sometimes)
I would go to the dealership if you want the exact one. That is where I was abled to get mine. It did stink I had to pay more but I don't recall it was way over the other price. I think it was under 200 for the one I bought on Amazon only to replace it with the original model from the dealer which was over 200.
A typical Group 35 AGM battery will fit.
This is because the Evo X's battery is in the trunk. For liability reasons, most manufacturers will note their battery as engine bay only. While it is true that you must vent a flooded battery with a tube, AGM batteries are safe enough for our Evo. Just be sure to open up the doors first to let out the hydrogen, if you ever suspect the battery is excessively overcharged (such as by a malfunctioning Ctek charger).
There are many choices. For example:
