I've been having issues with batteries not staying charged and eventually dying and I'm not sure what to do. I purchased the car from another gentleman who had a significant amount of work done to the Evo and he had a Braille B129 battery installed, the car seemed to run fine for the first few months I had it but then I started having issues with the car dying constantly and having to jump it off. I was told the battery was too small so I went to get a full sized battery but realized it will not fit due to larger turbo piping that was installed, which is probably why a smaller battery was used in the first place. So I decided to get another lightweight braille battery since that's what they had installed, but this time I purchased the larger Braille B2618. It ran good for about 7 months, then the issues started again with the battery dying and etc and the battery had ended up cracking. Not sure if it was a faulty battery or what so I decided this time to get a Braille G30C Lithium battery. This battery was a little bit larger than the others and barely fit into the space available. I had to kind of rig it in there because the battery cables were not long enough to fit properly. I know this was probably part of the issue but it was working (for the most part). I've had it running like that for about 2 years now and yesterday I come out and the battery is dead. I cannot get it to charge from the charger and I cannot jump it cause it's a lithium battery. So here I am looking to get a new battery and I'm not sure what to get. Or if I should even get a new battery. I've gone through 3 and I don't know what the issue is. Could really use some advice on what to do. Thanks!
my "fix" is to have 2 small batteries. both have a battery switch and for overnight parking I disconnect 1 or both so I have backup power in case one discharges or dies.
I suspect my alarm is the power drain. I want to replace it with a simple model eventually, one that doesn't send signals to the remote.
By the way guys.. why dont you just move battery to the trunk? It gives you lot of free space in engine compartment, also it's better to pull this weight to the rear
I didn't bought any "kit" for that purpose. Just good thick cables. And I bough my battery container in fishing shop for 20$ lol . It came out they use similar batteries in boats.
I fit in there 70 Ah / 680A EFB battery (size 260x174x255 mm). Works perfectly!
keeping the battery on a trickle charger when parked helped me. I had the same issues with the small battery getting very low or dying over night since winter is Cold here .
I was about to move my battery to the back... until I got the cable. that thing is heavy so I returned it. a full size battery is also heavier.
Well if the weight is an issue then yes. But I prefer extra kilos if I park outside and here in winter we have like -25 C. I never had a problem with starting it. Those EFB, AGM batteries are worth checking if you want a reliable car in winter.
