I need a little guidance as I’m not sure what else to check for my car. I have a 2014 EVO X GSR and I am having issues with my charging system. I replaced alternator went out on me so I replaced it with 2 different rebuilt Autozone alternator and I just assumed they were both defective as I’ve heard a ton of stories.
So I ended up getting a 3rd on from my buddy that is OEM and for sure working but I am still not getting any and voltage really from alternator output. I am only getting roughly 2 volts from alternator output. So I started testing the pins that connect to the alternator that come from ECM and without the connector plugged into alternator I am getting. RW: 10.7v
W: 11.4v
YG: 0.02
But when I test the cable when the connected is plugged into the alternator I am getting
RW: 2.7v
W: 10.4v
YG: 1.04v
I have checked the positive wire coming from battery to the front and I see nothing touching it or messing with it and as far as I am aware everything is grounded correctly. And the alternator fuse is perfectly fine. I have checked and relays yet
I've had an (Australian delivered) 2008 X since 2012, which I bought with 88,000 Kms on it. It was absolutely problem free (except that the ACD control module shat itself) until 290 000 km when the timing chain let go and it required an engine rebuild. I've had the car upgraded to 400+ KW, its now at 315,000km making it probably the highest mileage X on earth, and its still my daily driver. Best car I ever had.
