We will need the info on how to remove the ECU. I didnt see it in the How to. is it similar to the VIII IX. just take off the glove box and reach it from under the dash area.

 

The ECU on the EVO is located under the hood actually, very easy to remove.

 

Can i ship my ECU out to you Friday?

 

You can but i guess thats the day that will usually take the longest considering it wont get there till monday and then you get it back on tuesday instead if you ship it on a monday you will get it on a wednesday and you dont miss a whole weekend plue 2 more days without your car.

 

Im out of town this weekend so i dont care really.

Does this flash deal with the boost and the 23 - 15 psi taper at all?

 

I talked to Al on the phone about the Mail-in and it still tapers down to 13-15.

 

Please DO NOT ship an ECU to us until "you" call and we get all your information and an RA# to you, we will then give you the shipping address to send it in to.

If an ECU is shipped in on a Friday it won't be received until Monday and then you would have it back on Tuesday. So you have more down time but if you don't mind that is fine.

The boost, AFR's, timing and MIVEC maps are all adjusted in the flash. The boost will still taper. Even with a manual boost controller there is still quite a bit of taper.

 

I read the description of the tuned ECU on the site and saw where you could raise the rev limit. In your opinion with regards to keeping the valvetrain and bottom end stock, what would be an optimal rev limit for say an X with your Stage 2 package?

 

I would have them raise mine to 8K, but i wouldnt take it that high, just so i dont bounce it......imo

 

Do any dyno sheets exist that we could see? I have seen a lot of reports on how to send in for the flash but little info on what to expect HP/TRQ/AFR, I understand that some tunes may be different do to the fact not all the EVO's are still in stock trim, however I would like to have an idea of what to expect.
