EVOX hYdra EMS around the corner! First EVOX standalone?

The PeakBoost EVOX goes upto NorCal this Friday for the prototype hYdra EMS to be installed!

We've been pushing hard and helping as much as we can to make sure that the EVOX will have a viable tuning solution. Our friends at hYdra took an o'scope to our X for a day and then said "we'll call you in a bit so that we can install the prototype".

Last week I received a call that the prototype unit will be ready for install the first week of August.

videos/pictures/PeakBoost EVOX upgrades coming soon.

The hydra is a great ecu and works super good in Evo 8 and IX as well as all Subaru applications.

It never took off in the Evo world in the states but it is very popular overseas.

I have tuned many a Evo and Subaru with the Hydra - including my 05 STI - and find it to be a very good ecu with a great "feel" and stock like start up and function when tuned.

I am exited to hear the Evo X unit is comming out.

I'm getting on this boat when it comes out. I've been using Hydra since back in the 2.1 days. Hydra is now out with 2.6 software thats way more user friendly than ever.
Go Hydra. Go Andrew.

Any idea if it can be installed in parallel to the OEM ECU so that it's possible to keep cruise control, and pass emissions testing via the diagnostic port? Emissions testing here only invloves plugging in and sensing an OK from the OBD system. I understand the older Hydra systems don't support cruise control.

the system will be run parallel to the OEM ECU to maintain all the CAN amenities and emissions testing.

in fact, from what Andrew and I were talking about, they have been running this type of setup on the 350z/G, Mini's and Lotus' for sometime now.

Well, I made the 12 hour drive from Phoenix to Oakland Friday to drop off our EVOX and should be flying back out in about a week or two to pick her up.

on a side note, The Driveline EVOX will be here at the shop monday for us to begin installing the prototype PeakBoost GT turbo kit for the 2008 SEMA show. We took home the Gran Turismo Best Japanese Import 2006 with our "Couture Honda Fit" and would love have the same honors come from the new Evolution platform. more to come.
