Got my AEM intake..question...

so finally got my intake after 2 weeks of waiting i thought it would be longer. big props to JCSpeed for getting it me sooner. i was afraid itll be a month out but when i was going to email them to today about it guess what showed up?! love it! First of all the packaging sticks! i mean it smells bad! why? fresh rubber? i thought i really did $hitted on myself! but overall nice packaging got it install in about 2 hrs. the 2 neeples that came with the tubing, you only need one. i plug up the other one. you can probably skip 2 or 3 of the intructions to make things easier. and whats up with that stupid thing that goes around the tubing? its like weather stripping. it does not stay on! as hard as i try it just slip off when i go in and put in the filter. so took it out for a spin and wow i can definitely tell the difference from the butt-dyno. turbo spools up faster, smoother power curve. now here's the question am i suppose to see 24-25psi? the damn needle just shoots up. before the install i would hardly see 24psi, it would just flutter like crazy. it did get rid of my flutter problem though. my only other mod is a Works p2. no problem with cel, sputter, etc. another good thing, feeling the top of intake, its actually cooler after a run, before i would get nothing but hot air and possible heat soak=bad. will post pic tomorrow, gota go find a ban-aid now

the reason there are two holes in the intake tube for the wastegate solenoid (and they left this out of the directions) is, you're supposed to follow that single tube that connects to the intake down 6 inches to the 2:1 adapter and disconnect it there. then connect your new tubes from the AEM kit directly into both wastegate solenoid tubes (doesn't matter which matches to which)

well i figure that the hose have to be the same as the one from the oem intake to the new intake. on the stock intake there's only 2 tubing and 1 it goes to the boost selenoid and the other one crank case. ive been driving around and everything seems fine. ill double check everything again. thanks for the heads up.

so which hose do i connect to the intake? and whats the difference between what i did and what they want you to do? basically instead of running the tube straight into the intake, per the intructions, ikept the T set-up.

flutter problem with a works tune?? do you have any other exhaust mods that might make you spike higher with the intake? you know that exhaust work on turbo cars will make you boost higher right...

Checkout this thread:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ing+aem+intake

There is also another thread on the "how to's" section in which I posted with the link as well. Be sure to read STI2EvoX's post as he explains how it should be done. Thread also contains a link to the aem installation manual in color. I also had a hard time understanding how it was supposed to be installed, but once you get it it will all make sense hope that helps. Also enjoying the intake

man this is bonk! im just going to keep my original set-up, leave the T and plug up one nipple. i dont understand why you need to individually run 2 hose from the AEM intake to the solenoids, when the stock intake has it T's off.
