I just started looking into meth injection for my X. My question to the people who have put them on the X:
Will I benefit from the use of meth on my current setup without retuning or turning up the boost?
What should i expect power wise?


i understand the principal behind the meth with higher octane, cooler combustion chamber/cooler air charge+ advanced timing = MO Power.

How much will it benefit me without the timing being advanced?

Current set up CAI,TBE, no cat, Ivey tune @ 24.5 psi

 

Meth is great for the x. Runs cooler with meth and runs like race gas. U can tune it with higher boost and get some serious hp.

But get it tuned if you go with meth. You want meth to be tune with the car for it to work right.

 

You can run meth all day, and it won't affect your car. You could probably up the boost 2-3psi and be fine. But you really won't see the affects until you have it tuned again.

Boost = power, but there is always something to having the right tune. You could do some damage if you turn the boost up too much without being tuned for it.

I ran meth with my Evo8, and highly suggest you get it tuned after you put the meth on.

By the way, what whp are you at now?

Keep in mind theses were done on an 86 degree Jersey morning just after it rained with 99% humidity

 

now throw some meth raise the boost and see what she does.
