What is wrong with my turbo timer!?

So i just installed an HKS turbo timer (type 0) and it lights up like it is working, and it shows a voltage reading, but when i shut off my car the counter doesn't start, it just shuts down the car when i pull the key out... can anyone help me?
thanks in advance,
Richie

did you place the grounding wire from the timer to the E brake ground wire?

i put the black grounding wire to a grounded bolt, and i put the ebrake cable on the ebrake... maybe the connector thing is bad i was thinking, but then wouldnt that not matter, i mean, if the ebrake is down, then the circuit is complete, so power flows through the wire, but when the ebrake is up, i dont think there is any current flowing, right?

what kind of turbo timer do you have? when the e-brake is down there is no complete circute because the e-brake when it is down your ebrake light does not turn on there for not completing a ground. when the ebrake is pulled up or engaged it turns your brake light on there for completing the ground. the ebrake must be engaged in order for the timer to work when you pull out your key.

thanks for the help guys, it turns out that the splicer was not cutting into the wire enough to make contact on the ebrake wire... it is good to go now!
