100% stock DG motors baseline

So yesterday I went to DG motors just to get a baseline and watch some other evo x get tuned. The day was great thoese DG guys know what they are doing and Pete does anything you ask him to and is a man of his word and will take parts off his car to make you happy

now for all thoes that dont belive in how low these dynamics dynos read look at my baseline run and then go look at the DG blue evo x and look at what they can do with little mods

now it is time to make some power and FYi them DG boys got some crazy cars on the way watch out. I tell anyone that lives in the NEWYORK area to come down and check these people out they know their Evos

Yes, that is 100% stock. Run was done in 4th gear. Many evos in general with bolt-ons un-tuned will make less power than a bone stock car. (intake/piping etc)

Any exhaust will add power mainly a "test-pipe" as it removes the catalytic converter.

Most Evo X's will baseline between 205whp-220whp bone stock.

A Dyno does not read low or high. A dyno is just a tool for finding the power gain of a tune or an engine modification. It is really a simple concept. You do a couple of dyno runs as baseline, then install X part and another couple of runs and see how much power the car gained/lost.

That is all the dyno is good for. It does not read high, nor does it read low.

There are different kinds of dynos. Dynojets which tend to read higher than a Mustang dyno, Dyno Dynamics, etc...

A Dyno Dynamics can be made to read like a dynojet. You cannot compare one dyno to another like that. Just do a baseline on any dyno and keep using that same dyno w/the same calibration after you add mods/tune. Then look at the gains from the baseline. A dyno is about the gain you get from a tune/mod and not about some random number that is generated w/o doing a baseline.

Let us say that you car put down 350 hp but your baseline was 330. Your gain is 20 hp. Another car, however, put down 340 hp, but its baseline with similar mods was 300. Which car made more power? you may brag about the 350 number but the second car gained double the power from similar mods than yours did.

I totally understand your point and agree.

If referring to the total all wheel horsepower vs. gains picked up from mods, the total all wheel horsepower number will vary on different types of dynos. That's what the OP meant.

+1 I agree with you here, But can everyone please leave the dyno game out of this thread please. There are 3 other threads with dyno comparison and dyno information! Thanks!
