Resetting ECU= Lost Tune?

I remember the first time my IC pipe blew off. I thought I blew my engine.

Haha Same here. I always keep a 10mm with me just in case.

Engine tunes should never be lost after resetting the ECU, only reflashing them could overwrite or potentially corrupt one. Only having a temporary tune would be a nightmare considering you are supposed to unhook the negative side of your battery whenever you work around electrical components on a car.

i like the computer analogy! thats perfect. and yeah! always keep a mobile tool kit in the car for worst case scenarios!

I should keep my spare tire, jack and tools in the car for worst case scenarios. But it FEELS like the car is lighter, plus, my commute isn't bad enough I couldn't work out a flat in a couple hours.

When you reset your ecu, you do not lose your tune, but you do have learned values that will need a few runs to re adapt.
