Resetting ECU= Lost Tune?

So one of my intercooler pipes blew off and I had to reset the ECU after I fix the issue. I disconnected the positive terminal in the engine bay. I had a custom tune, and now I notice that I have lost top end power, I feel I have "lost" my tune, it feels stock. Does disconnecting power make you lose your tune?

No it doesnt, maybe you still have a boost leak remaining.

actually no your wrong you fail.... to much boost = your IC pipes blowing off..... very common with higher boost... btw OP im not sure if resetting your ECU makes your tune go away. contact your tuner to find out... good luck, oh and make sure you tighten down your IC pipes. has happened to me before.

^ storm_trooper OBVIOUSLY interprets everyone's comments way too literally.

To OP, no, resetting your ECU (disconnecting batter) does not remove your tune. If you reflash your ecu (by the dealer, as an example), then yes, you would have lost it.

Just shut up. You're the retarded one. There's nothing wrong or "fail" about somebody's IC pipe blowing off. Don't sit here and insult somebody who is just asking for help.

To the OP, invest in some t-bolt clamps or constant-tension worm clamps.

Also, your tune is still there. It's probably all in your head or you have another boost leak. You'd definitely be able to tell on the boost leak because your spool would be taking a huge hit.

Your original post. Completely and utterly condescending and uncalled for. Didn't even help the OP. This isn't an off-topic style forum. This is a technical forum. People are SUPPOSED to be serious here because this is where people ask for legitimate advice.

I'll let the mods deal with you... I've already given my input and advice to the OP of this thread and I'm done.

Thank you. that was my point. why comment if your not gonna help.

and how can you take endgamexiii's any other way then what he said? Like I said, you could tighten it down to what you seem to be enough, but if you crank your boost, its quite easy to blow off your IC pipe(s)...... like WarmAndSCSI mentioned, invest in some tbolt clamps.

So if I got a reflash from the dealer and I disconnected my battery means I lost the reflash?????

no, you only lose a flash when a new map is flashed to the ecu. just think of it like a computer hd, do you lose everything when you turn off the computer?

You lose your OLD flash only when you flash a NEW map to the ecu.
