Why do you ask? Did you blow your engine? Do you know of aanyone who has?

If you are asking because you are concerned about blowing your engine from changing the ECU mapping, then you are better off not doing it. Changing ECU mapping ALWAYS carries risk with it. Having said that, AP OTS maps are known for their conservative AFR settings, so it is not likely to blow an engine because of an OTS map.

I don't know anyone who has but I known one who blew it with a custom tune prob to much boost 27-30 PSI. I was just wondering before I bought one cause I like the car just hate how tuned it.

It would be a freak accident or user error that would cause the engine to blow from the base stage 1 or 2 maps.

If you blow the engine from a base Cobb map then it is the drivers fault.

Agreed.

I ran Cobb Stage I for 6000 miles or so, and I've been running Perrin Stage III for the past 1000 with absolutely no problems, on the stock clutch.

You can blow the engine without a tune if you suck enough. TONS of people use all of these tunes every day - they're pretty tried and tested.

I'm planning on using the AP stage 2 do to my mods and I have the MR so hopefully the tranny won't go into limp mode. Not sure what the tranny can take before it protects itself ?

Just keep an eye on the AP logger. You can safely try just about any map. Be careful, watch your boost and invest ion an AFR gauge. The OTS maps are fairly mild in terms of timing. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me and I can help you out. One thing to note is if you have a manual boost controller, you can run into limp mode issues due to the Torqe/Airflow tables.

I will not be using a MBC.... just the stage 2 AP with my Turbo back exhaust and thats it I don't want to go crazy just get the power it should have without blowin the pistons out of the block. Im just worried about the boost spiking with the boost pill out thats all. I have heard only good things so I feel pretty good just wondering if anyone had any problems yet ?

Would I have to get an MBC and boost gauge to make sure it won't spike though ?
