Question for ppl who had gotten a tune.

My question is, what do u do when u take your evo in for service? Will they automatically know u had a tune and slam you with "oh you have void your warrenty, so anything happens to your drivetrain from this point on is not our problem"

They haven't done that to me. My car has been at the dealer several times since being flashed for the hoodlatch recall, a center driveshaft, and a few other things.

I guess it really depends on the service you are going in for, and how cool the dealership is. If im going in for something cosmetic/electrical/susp. ect... then i wouldnt worry about any power mods/tune. However, if the tcase is fried or something, then you will definately be SOL if you take it in modded/tuned.

I have an opensource unlocked ecuflash tune and the tactrix cable. You just fire up the lappy and reflash it to stock. With all the dumb things that can happen to send you to the dealer, it is very valuable to have this option.

last month my MAF sensor died so it saved a bunch of time to have the ability to flash back.

I have a custom tune (AccessPORT) from HB Speed but can still flash back to stock for any service requirements.
