how to make knock sensor less sensitive?

Guys, I got evo 10 with forged JE pistons and Manley rods. After fitting those pistons the engine started knocking (knock sum 1-4) ocasionaly without any pattern. So i suppose this happens because of new pistons. Can someone advise me how to get rid of those knocks ?

What is your piston to well clearance set to?

Does it happen at any boost/timing/mivec settings?

The knock setup on CZ4A is 95% the same as CT9A

I can give you the knock maps (gains/adders/multipliers), however you/your tuner REALLY need to be sure it's not real knock...

What will "(knock sum 1-4) ocasionaly without any pattern" affect anyway?

well, as I understand it pulls timing.

Not exactly...

Any knock count causes interpolation between the High and Low Octane Timing & Fuel maps. The higher the count, the more it leans toward the Low maps.

Yup, I saw 1 count and it pulled a * of timing this morning.

ETA: I think the title should be "sensitive" not "sensible" lol.

Just like it should be FYI? Not estimated time of arrival?

You could not lift compression ratio casually?

actually only a repeated and sustained KnockSum of 6 or more will cause the ECU to start interpolating to the low oct maps...

The affect is additive, so if you get a BUNCH of 6+'s then the ECU will move more and more towards the low oct maps..

Yaro - I agree with the others, 1-4 is nothing to be worried about, if you were consistantly getting 10+during a pull and you know it was false then we can fiddle with the maps...

That's how the "octane %" and cruise/light accel are affected, yes. But I've ALWAYS seen the Evo X dynamically pull approx timing 1 degree per 1 count of knock during any given pull. I try to aim for 0 knock just so my timing curve stays smooth.

Yes, ontop of the octane treatment you have regular timing pulled.

Normally it's 1* per 3KS...
