Exclamation Problems flashing ECU on '10 MR, 2m old car

Hi,

So, I've already made 2 trips to my tuner without success.

The first trip he said the "files" on my car are different than any other he has ever worked on. This includes other '10 MRs and GSRs. He said the file names were different as well. So, he puled the files and told me he'd call me after the people he works with figure it out.

So, he called, and after 2 weeks they were able to map the file. So, I come in again, and 3hrs later he tells me even worse news--seems the ECU has some sort of flash protection. He says he has never seen this before, even on other '10 MRs and GSRs. Apparently when he tries to flash, the ECU will stop the flash in the middle of the process! So, anyway, he told me he will figure it out eventually but will need more time.

This tuner is very experienced with Evo's, and is quite well-known, so I am sure he knows what he is doing. But, have any of you experienced this on the newest Evos? Maybe I can guide him in the right direction.

Thanks.

Post up the rom, I would be surprised if it's not 55580005 or variant of.

JDMs already have 2 revisions of the 2010 ROMs, most likely it is a variant of the 55580005.

*Edit* I guess not

ha ha... naw, my tuner's one of the best. it's more my luck than anything. i had a z06 before, and the car had undiagnoseable engine problems for almost 1 year!!! finally, in a last ditch effort, we changed the ecu, and it was all fixed. that was after several weeks worth of missing work days driving back and forth to the tuners, many leeched car rides to wherever, etc.... that was hell.

anyway, thanks for the help. i think i'll just leave it up to my tuner.
