X reflashing

X reflashing

hi folks,just a couple of questions regarding reflashing the X.i assume reading is just as normal but iv heard a few stories of ecus being bricked mid-read/flash.what causes this?is there a guide on how to recover the ecu once this happens? thanks

it can happen - there are varying degrees

1) flash works - yay!
2) ecuflash/laptop crashes - boo, BUT just restart the laptop - DO NOT TURN CAR OFF
3) something else happens - boo 2x - either:
a) remove ECU from car and bench it
b) remove ECU from car and send it to colby for him to bench

I have put up info in previous threads. its 90% correct...

suffice to say, if you states-side its easier to send it to colby
