guys i'm trying to benchflash / unlock a ecu with terrible ecutek tune but it seems that i'm doing something wrong in the process...
with the alternative flash box checked in the ecuflash options i can write and read (really slow) the stock rom that i'm trying to load to the ecu, but when i uncheck the box and try to flash the rom again as stated in the instructions, i still can't get into the ecu like its still locked or something....

You need to use alternate flashing mode in ecuflash to write back a ROM without the Ecutek protection..

Then write it again in normal flashing mode..

then put in car

then tune...

so the first stage completes ok (writing my V1)??

Then when you goto normal mode (still writing V1) it doesn't work?

Can you copy/paste the log from stage2?

I would say your CAN HI/LO wiring needs to be checked..

Make sure you got the right pins (keeping in mind the pinout on the op20 is a mirror...)

I have had issues with tis too. I would flash the Alt and it was Successful, I would then flash it normally and it would be successful. I then take out the wires and plug the ECU back into the car and try to start it. The car will not start and its still stuck in programming mode. I hook up my laptop to see if I can re flash or read the ecu and it fails to connect? Any Ideas Tephra?
