p0090 fuel pressure regulator and p0403 egr after boost leak test

I had customer in town from Florida for a tune on his 2008 EVOX. Before we began we did a boost leak test to about 10psi and everything was solid. Hoses were reattached and the engine restarted and it threw a few SES (service engine soon) lights.

P0090 fuel pressure regulator control circuit
P0403 EGR flow circuit malfunction

the fpr and hoses are connected tightly and the EGR is internal on the X IIRC so there are no hoses like on the 7/8/9. I can't find a problem and clearing the code only works temporarily.

We went ahead and logged the car on the stock tune, 10.5 AFR, plenty of fuel. I went ahead and tuned it and it made good power for the mods without having to do anything weird to the ROM. The car runs great.

has anyone else encountered this?

I don't think it has anything to do with the pressure test personally, I've done it that way many times without issue, it's just weird that it popped up after that.

my customer said he's going to the dealer so they can check out the mechanical side of things, haven't heard back yet.

am i correct to assume that he added new mods or something to the car like fuel pump before the tune? but it is indeed weird that it popped up after the boost leak test..do you have any idea what is the fuel pressure?

Right after the flash the car gets the CELs.

I clear them, but I already had one customer tell me his CEL came back on this morning

Hrmm I am thinking its something in the 52680022 upgrade...

Can someone get out the TSB info for that dealer flash? Maybe they change something else as part of it?

I cannot find a reference to P0090/P0403 in the 2008 USDM FSM
