Thorttle Sticking Occasionally?

Im not sure if anyone else randomly has this issue, but once in awhile when i rev my car up the rpm's will stick and hold and slowly come down. Has anyone else had this problem? This has happened since stock but not enough that ive ever looked into it. Happens maybe 1 or 2 times a month randomly. Anyone know what the issue might be? Thanks in advance!

its the car trying to correct you dumping fuel into the exhaust. it happens all the time if you are just free revving your motor. its what you get when you have an eletronic throttle...

Well i honestly dont just free rev very often. As an example its happened when ive pulled into a gas station and when in first gear i push the clutch in and throw it into neutral to roll in the last few feet and the revs i was at in first before i put the clutch in sticks and slowly lowers down. Quite odd.

Exactly, I believe Mitsu has this programmed to help with revmatching when shifting. It's the first thing I noticed when I drove the car off the lot, love it! Just tap the throttle when downshifting, then you can take your time selecting the lower gear.

It's an emission thing. The ECU is trying to burn the extra gas off before it revs down.

i think its a common issue in general with drive by wire systems.... i had this same issue with the 06 civic... made to reduce emissions on throttle lift-off

got my oil change done at the stealership last friday and the guy says "your throttle is beginning to get sticky, we recommend you get that serviced." Told him no thanks.
