3 port on stock turbo hold 21psi

Hey guys,

I believe my BOV is leaking and I will try crushing it and/or replacing it soon, in the meantime, I was wondering what the capabilities are of the Grimmspeed 3 port?

Would a stock turbo X with TP, Cat-back, and intake be able to maintain 21psi to redline (7500) at an elevation of 300ft without cams? Has anyone done that?

If not, what's a realistic goal for the 3 port?

I will be on the stock turbo for maybe anither 8 months/year and want to maximize my power. I haven't really looked into UICP/LICP as I am uncertain how much they would actually help...

the amount of boost held to redline is more of a function of the turbo and not the ebc. while a 3 port, wg and a non-leaky bov can help hold it longer your getting out of the efficiency range of the turbo and blowing lots of really hot air that isn't necessarily helping you to make more power.

if your spiking high they your causing the bov to begin leaking. when i tested it the bov didn't re-seal once it was leaking until 20 psi

You may need to define red line. The stock turbo really starts to crap out above 6000 RPM and as you clear 7000, boost really starts to drop.

lol, blind from checking his fuel trims

I do understand all about turbo effieciency and the role the turbo itself plays in maintaining boost at higher RPMS.

I am currently holding 18psi, and I am fairly certain my BOV is leaking as well, since my passive WGDC isn't makind a difference. So 21 might not be out of the question with a working BOV and a good 3-port and MAYBE a WGA. I would rather not spend any $ on the WGA as my replacement turbo next year won't be able to use it.

I thought I read some posts of folks maintaining 21 to redline, but I cannot find them. So has anyone done this on the X with similar mods?

sorry not a X, but I have the GM 3-Port on my IX, and can hold 21psi @ 7000, no prob, but starts to struggle holding 21 to 7500. Although it might be easier to hold 21 across, as opposed to hitting 25, and holding it to 5k, and tapering it down... Im still under 90% tho... (stock turbo)

I have the Grimmspeed 3 port and a BOV that doesn't leak. I hit 26psi at 2800rpm, holds 26psi to 5800rpm, then starts to drop and hits 21psi at 7000rpm (the actual redline on the tach) and after 7000 it really drops quick. This is with 100% WGDC after 6000, which means basically there's no boost getting to the wastegate so the turbo is making all the boost it possibly can at that point.
