If the direction of flow is coming from the turbo then the funnel shape should be facing the turbo. It helps funnel the air into the hole so it can enter the solenoid with steady air flow.

Makes sense, I'll keep it in that orientation unless someone pulls theirs out and says otherwise!

Coolio, you could always try calling Cobb and asking them if they know. They might be able to help.

Hi, I tried to pull the vacuum line out from the solenoid but at the same time, I don't wanna ruin the rubber tube. Do you just give some strength to pull it right out?

Thanks in advance.

First time is going to be the hardest! I was scared that I'd rip mine too, but it went well. I was careful by twisting it a bit, but honestly that did little to nothing. In the end, pulling it straight out with more force is what led me to success!

Just in case anyone still cares... the smaller end of the pill goes towards the solenoid... which is what you all assumed. Just wanted to clarify since I just took mine out. Man... that thing is TINY!
Ok... back to the garage for the Stage 2 tune!

Be careful on ripping out the vaccuum lines. I used muscle to remove a hose and ended up slicing my finger pretty good, enough to see some tissue. One way is to try and slide a flat tip in there to act as a lever. If you are going to muscle it then make sure your hands and arms won't fly back and hit anything haha.

Yes, I still care because apparently now I have to reinstall this little guy for the COBB v403 tune which no longer requires us to uninstall it! Go figure! I just have to say that currently with it removed, my car has been running fine for the last few years on v1.08. When the pill was still installed, the car felt tame and something was clogging it up. Once removed, it felt like a beast! I hope the v403 maps figured out how to get that raw feeling with the pill still in Otherwise I'm just going to old school it back on 1.08 forever

Yes, use force, but be careful when working with engines in general!

I didn't even know about the 403 maps until you posted this, so thanks! And I'm really interested in what anyone things about the new maps vs the 108 maps. I run an HKS panel filter, when they unfortunately haven't mapped and don't think they will. So going 403 would probably mean I'd have to buy another intake, so it's got to be really worth it.
Any reactions or even dyno numbers with the new maps yet?

No sure if you have to move to the 403 map set, but Cobb have released the after-market Intake calibration guide. Go to the below link and raise your question about the HKS Panel filter and if you need to be on 403 for the calibration to work correctly.
