How many mods before custom tune?

I know the X needs a tune bad. I'm wondering how many mods are worth getting before a custom tune as opposed to the accessport. I'm thinking I'd want an intake, upper intercooler pipes, test pipe and catback. Are there any other small things worth getting before having a custom tune done?

Hmm I haven't looked into the wastegate yet. Who makes good ones? As far as the downpipe from my understanding the stock one is pretty good so I wasn't really going to replace that yet.

After a little digging it seems like the forge wastegate is definitely a worthwhile upgrade. Now would it be better to get that before the IC piping?

no..

generally I dont like recommending people do the intake AND other mods at the same time

especially for a 2010

2008 runs richer than the 2010...

so for an untuned car its a bit safer - but I still wouldn't do it...

panel filter is probably fine, anything else is a bit dicey without a tune

I had a cold air intake, intercooler, lower/upper intercooler pipes, high flow cat, and cat back before I got a custom tune. The ecu didnt like it to much. went into limp mode a few times after some spirited driving.
