I think ECU_OPTIONS_3 bit14 is cruise control enable/disable

Hi All,

Just another useless fact :P

I think ECU Options 3 bit14 is enable/disable cruise control. I havn't tested it AT ALL yet...

Code:
<table name="ECU Options Set #3" category="ECU Options" address="50092" type="2D" level="2" scaling="blobbits">
	<table name="Periphery Bit Number" type="Static Y Axis" flipy="true" elements="16">
		<data>bit.15</data>
		<data>bit.14: Cruise Control Enabled/Disabled??</data>
		<data>bit.13</data>
		<data>bit.12</data>
		<data>bit.11</data>
		<data>bit.10</data>
		<data>bit.9</data>
		<data>bit.8</data>
		<data>bit.7</data>
		<data>bit.6</data>
		<data>bit.5</data>
		<data>bit.4</data>
		<data>bit.3</data>
		<data>bit.2</data>
		<data>bit.1</data>
		<data>bit.0: Lean Spool Off/On</data>
	</table>
</table>
Anyone want to give it a go?

Cheers
D.

Why would you want to disable cruise?

The point is for a ROM that may have the code, but not the bit set... you could potentially ENABLE it

Or, in a race car you may not want to have the option of accidentally setting it.

Mostly... I think Tephra is just finding stuff. Knowing what a bit does, even it is seems worthless, is knowing what it doesn't do, in case you are looking for something later.

Tephra, I went to test it for you, but mine is set to a 0 already, and my Cruise Control works just fine.

Look at your 55570106 ROM...

Mine is set to 0 as well, 55590007

Interesting fact about the SST cars (at least my RA) is that the Cruise Control *only* works in auto mode. It will not engage while in manual mode.

My 08 MR does not do that.
tho it would be interesting if this would allow cruise in sport or s-sport.

Your MR allows cruise in full manual mode? But not in sport or S-Sport? So it allows cruise in normal - auto *and* normal - sport?

Bryan, the SST cruise control will work in Manual shift or Auto shift while the mode selector is in "Normal". When you move to Sport or S-Sport, the cruise control will not engage.

that's how it was described in the user's guide

yeah it looks like the 2010's have a revised algorithm.

its still bit14, BUT it actually gets set differently and afterwards... so for the 2010's you can't toggle the cruise with this bit..

not sure what the deal is with that - but its still good to know...

Hi there Tephra,
I'm Erwin from Malaysia.
I've been looking/reading through your post, and i must say that you've done a very great job in exploring the EVO X ECU....
I need some help here though. I don't have and EVO X, but i do have a Lancer GT. Would you be able to develop the XML file for it. Can i have your email add so i can send you the ROM files. My ROM ID is 54750003.
One of the issues is that i'm unable to enable the cruise function on my ride (with reference to your post), but other Lancer GT, which has a diff ROM ID (52180010) have the cruise function and working perfectly... Maybe Lancer GT have a different XML address, because i'm trying my luck by using the EVOX base.

Regards,
Erwin
