sweeeet!

Is it at the bit-wise representation for 30psi or is it at a calculated 30 psi? IE: Can we throw in the omni 4 bar and rescale at some point, or are we going to have to change some code?

If what you are saying is true I wouldn't be surprised if it was opening our center diff and stopping AYC too!

its voltage based.

so if you put a 4bar in then this wouldn't happen at 30psi, but probably 40psi..

but doing that introduces another set of problems... like ALL the MAP scalings would be off, and its not easy to just fix them up....

Damn. I just read this for the first time. Would gladly donate my car for the purpose of research, I'm in Melb, hitting 30 psi and getting the ASC Off issue.

Hi Tephra. What are the consequences of this light other than being an eyesore?

I sometimes run 112 octane in my X with a Red at 30psi and obviously get the light everytime I lay into it until I shut the car off and restart. Is this a danger in any way if my A/F and timing is correct in the tune itself?

Lou

i dont think it affects the tune.

what it does affect is the ASC turns off, so obviously no traction saving powers if you get stuck

ALSO I think the SST basically turns off, well the clutches open when you hit 30psi...

So in theory, the mechanical fix they fashioned to raise the max boost level on the SST should work for the GSR for running higher boost too huh?

yeah...

obviously the 30+psi for 5MT isn't such a big deal, since it only disables ASC, but the SST guys its fairly important lol

still i like this over any mechanical fix...

next will be the 33psi limit of the stock sensor... only fix there is to for 4bar (or 7bar :P)

True

How much more complicated is the MAP scaling in the X vs. the 8/9's? I thought you were saying it is much more integrated into other systems rather than just emissions purposes, maybe i am wrong.

yeah its a LOT more integrated.

There is provision in the ECU for SD already.

ie there are 3 big rpm vs mappsi tables which output a MAFSOURCE style number...

still working on that side of things thou

simply swapping in a 4bar will be a lot harder...

Yea I bought a 4 bar a while back and sold it after I heard it wasn't going to be easy to make the switch.

Well I am glad to hear about the SD provision, that is very exciting I will have to donate multiple times in the future I am guessing, once I have an Evo with a motor

Thanks for all the work Tephra...it is very much appreciated.

Well side question...one thing I always wondering, and since you said the few maps put out a MAFstyle signal...does the ECU use a comparator between the actual MAF signal and the MAP sensor calculated one? I think the new Honda SI does this if I am not mistaken, uses both a MAF and SD.

Like a check or something....

that I havn't looked at yet.

i have a feeling that the SD part is only for when the MAF sensor fails.... but once this 30psi thing is done, and the throttle lookups done, and some more tephraxmods are done ill look into the SD/MAF thing hehee
