tuning

are you evo x guys having any luck with the safc 2 when it comes to fine tuning? Or even tried it yet. i spoke to apexi regarding the evo x ecu and the safc 2 only and they said it would be good for fine tuning a flash and the ecu should not overwrite the safc. any ideas or thoughts on this?

Ummm....absolutely no reason to ever buy that. If you are bent on paying for a device get the AP from Cobb...otherwise just use ECUflash

+1000000 ^^^

DO NOT USE AN SAFC....

Buy a COBB AP if you don't know how to tune...

Yeah don't buy that thing. Those were somewhat useful in '99 before hondata and all the ecu tuning tools, but even then they kinda sucked.

There is nothing to "fine tune" since ECUFlash has plenty of definition.

I'm not familiar with the S-AFC but I am starting to see that the stock ecu is running into some issues with line by line fuel and injector scaling. If the S-AFC has the fidelity to hold more precise fuel mapping it may be a vialble piggy back?

AFC HACK FTW! kidding seriously though, what they said. i mean safc2 costs like $250 (more or less)..for that price you could get tactrix cable and evoscan.

if you're thinking, it's easier to tweak safc (yea for fuel only)..so think again, afc's tend to advance timing around +/- 2*..

so my opinion, do what those^^ guys said..

if you'll incorporate it with ecuflash+afc combo (like some honda guys do with their chipping stuff), it's *ok* i guess never seen it in X.. i couldn't really remember how many maps you could store in safc, but in terms of precision in fuel mapping it's *ok* like it does the job..but then again i'd prefer other piggy backs..just my 0.02..
