Yes. Bryans posted graph is the best way to visualize it.

In all gears? EDIT: never mind just noticed this is first gear only.

its probably been mentioned before, but perhaps throttle controller would help in such scenario?

Is the graph for 2010 MR's too? So that makes all MR/SE's have the same TCU tune?

2008-2010 MR's all have the same issue.

So do we know if the MR is referencing a new undiscovered Throttle Map for 1st gear or is it just subtracting from the map to reach the final throttle value?

If it's the later I think I might have a workaround...

I decided to test what the max value is on this table and the limit is well beyond what is needed. It's possible just changing the 100% values on the right side of all five throttle maps to 155% would cure this reduction. Then again it might also flag error codes and send the car into warp speed. If you only change the spots that are 100% already it "shouldn't" effect drivability otherwise and the rest of the gears will attempt to reach 155% instead of 100% when you go WOT with hopefully no side effects.

It also might be subtracting TPS: 155% - 55% = 100% or

it might be a percentage of the current: 155% * .45 = 70%

either way we would find out if it's sending you to a completely different table, subtracting TPS or using a percentage of current TPS pretty quickly.

Not having an MR myself, who has the guts to test this and report back with a before and after datalog?

i think you will find its a bit more complicated than that.

but its worth a try none-the-less

I'm sure it's more complicated but if it's progressive we can fool it a bit!

I also noticed the most of the Throttle Maps tend to go up from 0% to 45% somewhat gradually then suddenly within 1-2 cells jump to 100%. The pattern of the TPS being cut more at 3k compared to 6k also seems to match how these Throttle Map tables look as well.

It's possible that some factor effecting the "unknown units" on the Y axis is bumping the actual TPS down to the ~45% area. You could then experiment by increasing all the 45% areas up to 100% a little bit earlier and it might be a possible work around as well.

Seems like it, but it might be worth testing to see if it is a way to at least mitigate it a bit until we come up with the real solution.

The only thing I would be concerned about would be wearing on the butterfly valve motor, but I'm guessing there is a clip value in there anyway.

Hiboost, that has been tried already. It doesn't help.

If altering the Throttle Maps doesn't help at all then it's sending the ECU to a table we haven't defined yet and the search continues. Are you positive that someone has tested altering the max values of TPS as well as making the 40+% cells to 100% (or higher) a bit earlier?

When I was fighting compressor surge without gear based mivec I used all five of the throttle map tables to limit TPS to 30-35% range at 3500 and lower sometime last year. It definitely restricted boost to the 15-20 psi range but it was effecting all gears of course and not worth the tradeoff.

man, i can't wait for the day a simple tune through my AP can alleviate this. i'm always finding myself blipping the throttle whenever i'm at a standstill and need to take off fast

when you're slowing for a right turn at a red light (canada)...i coast in 1st gear and then try to speed up again to get the turn started, the engine would bog down and do nothing for like half a second...in which time on-coming traffic is now dangerously close...and you tighten your ******* and say a prayer as you madly stomp on your gas.

i dont understand everyone saying their car bogs..mine must be different cuz i hit it and it goes pretty normally to me..my reaction time is of canadian standards haha,,if i hit throttle at light and hold ill drift the corner..wet or dry..i have to get on it slowly to prevent this
