Cobb stages

Is it worth to get a AEM intake for a minor CObb stage 1 or 2 upgrade... ? it looks like the regular stage 1 (91/93) gives u equal power (just a little less tq).... anyone have the Cobb stage 1/2 with the AEM intake? other than sound any other advantages ?
thx

The stock intake will start becoming a restriction once you start heavily modifying your X. It is always a good plan to start with basic performance upgrades. Intake, exhaust, tune, etc..
Anything that will remove air restrictions will in turn will give you more HP overall.

at cobb ,, i had a 03 wrx with the ap v2 and i haven't looked into it much but i'm asuming that the ap maps dont allow for an aftermarket intake like with the subaru's right? to do an intake you would need a protune

Cobb has plenty of OTS maps available for various intakes.

Get the intake you really want, dont get an intake because the AP has a map for it. Getting a custom tune will give you more power compared to an AP map.

Cobb has shelf maps for most of the top selling name brand intakes. AEM, AMS, Injen, etc.

The intake calibrations are for aftermarket intakes. The reason we never did many GD Impreza intake maps was that the intakes for these cars tended to be very inconsistent in build quality and we generally felt that an intake on these cars was not needed anyway. The EVOX is a bit different and there are many more quality parts available now than before. You can use these maps with confidence with their respective intakes.
