Got the tactrix cable... now what?

100% noob here. So I have the following mods on my car:

- Injen Intake and UICP
- Catback Exhaust

I proceeded to purchase the tactrix cable as COBB AP is currenlty not available for the 2011 evos.

But... now what? I downloaded both ECUFlash and Evoscan.
Are there pre-made map that are close to my setup, that I can use to just
flash my ECU? I'm a little apprehensive about taking that dive, as this is my DD.

Thanks in advance for the help!

First you are going to need to read your ROM with EcuFlash. You will probably be missing a definition file. Save the ROM and post it here or email it to me.

After you get a definition file, you will have to edit the tune yourself. You can copy a map like Gunzo's maps and make yourself an "off the shelf" style map.

It's pretty easy and straight forward.

So, how's this coming along for you?

Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be in his best interest to have a wideband hooked up before he starts tinkering with maps?

It would be great to have a wideband before any of us bought these cars....

Depending on what maps he is changing, it might not be a big deal. Enabling mode23, disabling the torque limiters, poking around, etc shouldn't require a wideband.
