Ecu's

Hi there everybody. New to the forums. Quick question, how is ecu interfacing if any on the piggybacks out there are is everyone choosing to use reflashes? I had a piggyback on my old subie and it was terrible went it came time for the piggyback to take control of the engine settings. There would be some pause in acceleration and just made for a terrible experience. Also, does the evo run pig rich from the factory, assuming yes?

Piggybacks are so 1990's

Everyone is reflashing with either an Accessport or ECUFlash. The 2008's run really rich from the factory, but the 2010/11's aren't quite so bad.

^^ I agree with kracka. I went to a local tuner here in San Francisco and he stated the same thing that Kracka said " piggybacks are so 1990's". Just get a dyno tune or use the accessport with our cars. You'll get better and more reliable results. just my 2cents

Lol k, thx guys. I know I should search, but what kind of real world gas mileage are you getting after a tune? With basic mods like intake, ic pipes and exhaust.

Yup, about the same for me. Really depends how hard the car is driven though, I find myself driving my X a lot harder than I did my IX mainly b/c I'm not afraid of it being a gigantic POS always on the verge of breaking and my fuel mileage reflects it

3dman1 your car sounds sick. I bet your getting 500+ w/ E85. I had a 2.3 w/ piston squirters in my old WRX. It was a pretty sick build that IA Performance did for me a few years back. Phil Grabow did the tuning. She ran pretty damn hard and had great gas mileage if you didn't get into boost I haven't gotten an X yet, but I'm about 75% sure I'll be picking one up. Thought about this or a GTR, but I think the X has the better bang for your buck.
