Meh, another monitoring question

Hey guys,

I've been talking to a couple people about different types of monitoring devices. I'm just getting opinions and doing some research so I wanted to ask you guys what you all know about the "Edge Insight CTS" product.

I also wanted to get some feedback from any of you guys who have the Zeitronix setup. I've heard great things about it. Another thing I was wondering was, for the guys who have it, where did you mount your zeitronix screen.

Lastly, if I choose to go with gauges, it would simply be a boost gauge and a wideband. So, which brand...? Or does it not matter now a days and their all relatively the same? I'll most likely be mounting them myself since I hate the gauge pods that go on the pillar or steering wheel.

Here's a link for the edge

Thanks

I like my Zeitronix, and also dislike it. My main gripe is that usually the LCD screen blurs the numbers, especially when cold or hot. Otherwise, it works great! I have my LCD mounted above my radio, with the wire coming out of the air vent. I didn't want it right in my face, and if I were to put it on the steering wheel column, it seems like it'd annoy me.

Hmm, thanks. I'll take that into consideration. I was thinking about getting out my dremel and making a space on the carbon piece under the air vent on the drivers side. Not sure tho... might have to pull it off and see if it could be done.

It's a Colorado thing. LCDs are per definition liquid crystal displays. Liquid gets viscous when cold and the numbers do not change as fast. And we are using the low temperature LCD modules! Our ZR-1 and ZR-2 gauges are LED and change uber fast.
A SandyEgo guy should not see anything like Colour'ado dude.

^Hehe. You guys are sneaky ninjas. Can you be contacted directly for a sweet deal on one of your units ? I did fall in love with it the first time I saw it, but time messes with the mind.

I'd believe it!

The screen wasn't fast enough to directly tune with, the datalogging however was nearly identical to what we saw with an exhaust mounted wideband. It's plenty quick for taking a glance when you're playing around to get an idea of where you're at, but I can't see exact numbers unless it's holding. Not really an issue if the car is tuned well and AFRs aren't going crazy

The boost monitoring on it is fantastic once it's calibrated. I love the fact you can recall peak boost at the push of a button.

(This is the older version of the Zeitronix that I have, not the newer version!)
