So I bought my car used a few months ago. Bought a tactrix cable and installed ECUFlash. Went to read the ECU and got the below message. I chose the 2006+ mitsubishi CAN type. Anybody know how to unlock the ECU? Will it allow me to flash the stock ROM over it and get rid of the locking?

I tried the ECUflash unlocker 1.1 and that failed.

could have been cobb tuned or something

 

EcuFlash has the ability to lock ROM's

If you pay for locking licensing.

best bet is to bench the ECU and write a stock ROM over the top...

 

How to lock the rom ? How to open it ? Like for Evo 8-9 init code change or better way available ? How Cobb locking it ? Can do the same with Ecuflash to protect your map ?
