Nobody has said anything bout mellon tuning thats y im kinda askin!

 

I was going to do Mellon tuning a couple of days ago, but they keep increasing their prices... now is at 400 for a etune on a VIII/IX =S. Other than raising the prices, I've heard pretty good things about them!

 

WOW really???? Lol glad that did mine last month. I am wondering why is prices are up like off the roof that is crazy. !

 

For some reason they are and kid you not, I saw the thing on thursday or friday at 350 and today 400.... I was going to do it tomorrow and 50 bills more =(

 

we're worth it the quality of our email tune is exactly the same as the road tune thus the price is the same. Both are very reasonably priced for the amount of time and effort that I put into each tune to get them perfect. If you want to spend 10-40k to buy your EVO, then spend thousands on mods only to then skimp on the tune that's up to you.

 

Yeah but 500 dollars ??? lol !! Come that is a lot for tune!! do not matter where is at!! sooner or later going to pay end up paying almost for a standalone tune. Like me i will paid the 400 because of the mods that i have but if i will only have exhaust and intake i will have to said that i will stick to the Cobb for years. But overall Mellon racing is quality tune and he put a lotta time on it including holidays, weekend and late nights. So is i will have to to pick from all the e-tune guys out there i will go with chris cause i work with even with my Military crazy hours of work.

 

it's 400 and that's cheap, I have guys come to me all of the time getting rid of their standalone and they were paying 700+ for their tunes.

 

I have had E-Tunes from both Mellon and AMS.

Both are great tunes. I am 110% satisfied with each of them.

Both company's were a pleasure to work with.

The Mellon e-tune was my first tune, when I had my AEM Truboost boost controller for boost control.

The AMS e-tune was my second tune, when I decided to go with a Perrin 3 port EBCS for boost control.

Yeah that's why I am gonna stay with the stock ecu lol!! Plus Mellon already knows my car so For e tune I will not go no where else! :-) I am satisfied with all the hard work that chris put into my tune and like I said I work with me at all times of the day and weekend so that is a plus cause some tuner as soon the get outta the shop they are done. That does work for me since I am work from 1 to almost 11 at night. So Mellon racing + 1

 

I think the point being argued is that a $500 tune is $500 to pay for dyno time... A mail in tune is a "click buttons for parts on car and burn to chip type of deal." *Correct me if I'm wrong*, but every other mail in tune company saves specific parts in a database, and it roughly estimates what your tune parameters should be. It's only specific to mods, not your actual car. And, as we all know, every car is different. IMO find a shop close enough so that you can get a custom tune for your own car, and it will still be around the same price as a mail in tune.

The question here is, if I do a mail in tune and compared to the tune done on site by the same tuner, will I see the same results on the dyno? If Yes or close, then the price for the mail in tune will be worth it.
Obviously the idea of a mail in tune is quite inviting as I have seen tunes done on sites which doesn't meet up to expectation.

 

If its done by us yes. We use the same process remotely as we do locally. Hence the reason the price is the same

 

I'm going to do an etune on feb.. The reason of doing it is because my car is in Indonesia. I believe this would be one of the best solutions since there is no Opensource tuning available there. The only tune that is available is hks fcon,
