motor blew :( help

motor blew :( help

i have an 08 evo gsr i have roughly 63k miles on it and the other night i started it up and no go, i took it to my local shop and was told there is no compression and that i would need a new engine. if this is the case does anyone know what i should do ot make it bigger and better? all the mods i have now is an aem intake, lighten flywheel, act clutch
also if anyone knows a local shop by Allentown Pa i would geaty appreciate it!

right

yeah i guess thats what im going to do, a motor just blowing up doesnt seem right considering no signs were shown.

yeah

yeah there was no problem, i had a check engine light the day before and was planning on checking it the next day but that night it didnt start up, the only problem i had was once or twice when i would pul out the car felt like there was no give and then bucked a bit and caught itself, im clueless to how this could happen

Something definitely seems off about a motor blowing on startup. Second the second opinion nomination.

could be the timing chain skiped bent valves happend to my ralliart on start up

CBRD would be an excellent choice! I wouldn't let anyone else touch my evo if I was within an hour of them.

I've read about cars parked in a forward gear rolling backward and skipping a tooth a couple of times lately. Didn't think it applied to SST cars though, so news to me!

The local shop you took it to is managed by retards, thieves, or retarded thieves. Motors do not blow unless you do something drastic, and even then you would have some indication that the engine was damaged. The check engine light coming on will probably give some clues as to why the engine is not running. If the cam timing moved on you by timing chain failure, and the Evo X motor is an interference-type engine design (not sure whether it is), as soon as you cranked it up and the valves hit the pistons, you would know about it. Good luck. Please let us know what the other shop finds...
