Tune cost...

Hey guys, I tried using the search prior to posting this and google wasn't much help either.

I'm definitely new to tuning and still researching about it. But one thing i'm definitely curious about is cost.

All i'm having put in the car is a short ram and tbe for right now. i'm looking for a simple street tune that'll get me decent numbers.

I'm closest to JMS in San Antonio and was wondering what they have charged some of you guys in the past so i can get a general estimate.

Thanks ahead of time!

EDIT: deployed right now so its kinda of a pain to get a call out.

Here in NC it cost about $400 on a dyno and at another shop it's $300 for a street tune.

Depends on what tune you're looking for. Like ^^he said, E-tunes are available. For me, I'm going with the Cobb tune, but you need the access port which is around 600$ give or take and then you need to take it to the shop and get it tuned. For me in my area, The shop i take it to is around 300$. I don't need a dyno for it because its basically the base map tune. Also, if you were looking for a dyno tune, just heads up becuase a lot of places charge by the hour, the shop i go to doesn't charge hourly, so thats a plus. Hope this in some way help you man. And good luck being deployed, Stay safe!!

Im like you. Your probably from the Hood area. Well there is KevinD up in dallas that does street tunes for $300. Just look up KevinD on this forum user name they usually have guys come down to waco to tune so you dont have to drive far.

350-650 depending on the mods, features of the mapping such as ecu controlled boost, bigmaps, speed density and map switching

I've seen anywhere from $250 to $600. It really depends on the area and shop. I'd say ~$400 is typical for a dyno tune.

My local shop (local as in, Kansas City) charges $400 for a dyno tune. The shop north of here is a little cheaper at $350 for a dyno tune.

It should also depend on their equipment. Old rusty dynojet with a tailpipe clamp will probably be on the lower side. New Mustang Dyno or DD and you're probably on the higher side. You usually get what you pay for.
