Lean Idle, Rev Bounce, help
Lean Idle, Rev Bounce, help
I have been searching around quite a bit the last week trying to figure out what to do. I had an appointment 2 weeks ago Friday to get tuned, however I started the car to go the the appointment and it would start and then die after 3 seconds. Put on a new maf and it was fixed. The next Saturday I had another appointment and made it down there and got on the dyno. I started reading a magazine when my tuner came in and said something was going on with my readings and all my exhaust was coming out my dump pipe and almost no exhaust out of my tailpipe at just idle and cruise. We read that MAP dump could blow the gasket or not line up right and it would take the easiest path out which would be dump. So I bought a MAP recirc and put that on. Well, when I drive its pretty lean but it isn't bad. after 2200 rpm roughly it is normal at cruise. below that it is reading --- and at about 1800rpm is around 14.8-16 then goes back to --- until that 2200rpm. when I push the clutch in and coast it is normal at 14.8-15-6 ish then after a second when I stop it goes to --- and the idle dips to about 500 or 650 from the normal 850. the vac goes from 20 to 10 when the idle dips. I don't know whats going on. I installed id1000, blaqops kit, ams fuelrail, injen intake. I don't think its any of that since it was running fine before that. I had 1 of the 2 vac nipples plugged and then when tuner put a t fitting on so that both intake nipples were hooked up it was fine while driving home until next time I started it.
my ltft is at 12.5. my stft is at 0.0-6 ish when crusing and at idle it is at 0.0 then when it dips and almost dies it starts to climb up from the 0 to 12 then back to 0.0 and climbs back up then idles fine for a second while still reading --- then idle dips and stft climbs again when rpm dips.
I am stumped. I am going to check for boost leaks again but before I got tuned the shop does an inspection and I had no leaks. My compression was 125,125,120,125. If anyone knows what to do or what it could be that would be awesome. I have my wideband in my testpipe now so I will try switching it to my downpipe and see if that helps readings (if I have an exhaust leak) I just don't know what it could be and I can't afford to not have it driving and not get tuned. I've been waiting for too long to get tuned and I really would like to get tuned this Saturday at my appointment.

The tuning shop isn't fixing it? It sounds like a bad tune, or maybe a bad o2 sensor. I had what looked like a exhaust leak (creeping AFR's) but it was really a chunk of ice had hit a splice on my front o2 sensor and was causing a short.
i;ll take a look. the shop could fix it but i don't want them to i have done all my own work up till now and will continue to. i found a leak from turbo to downpipe so i am going to fix that and then put my wideband sensor on the downpipe instead of testpipe and hopefully that will fix it.
the o2 sensor is my next guess but i really am hoping that it is just the leak. i am too anxious to tune on e85.
would inj. latency or scaling be an issue? i have id1000s and ams fuel rail.

Hasn't been much help here, but I fixed the leak and it now is reading afrs perfectly. However after a while of idle or drops and then it has to dump fuel to bring it back up. I don't know why. Anyone have this happen or know what it could be?
