Hi guys i had an issue with my evo x 2008 gsr recently. my car never did this before but now its been 3 days and i'm trying to find an explication. here's my problem. when i'm accelerating from 2500/rpm-3000/rpm my engine go immediately to 5000/rpm accelerating very fast but after maybe 1 secondes if i'm still giving gas my engine start to decelerate a little bit, not that much but it look like there is something restraining me for a bit. i'm living in canada so at the beginning i tough it was the cold but even if my engine is hot the probleme is the same.

my mods are: turbosmart bov, k&n air intake, 3'' exhaust pipe.

Clutch slip maybe?

^ This. Sounds like you need a new clutch bud. Same thing happened to me, I got a Competition Stage 3 for about $575, the labor is nearly twice as much. I recommend taking it to a reputable shop that knows Evos well and will do the job right. I made the mistake of taking it to a mediocre mechanic and it was a nightmare. Just my .02. GL!
