Need advice on tuning!

Will a Cobb basic (stage 1) map work work on a with a 2014 GSR with a cosworth drop in and Sakura street exhaust?
I want to get a Kaizen tune, and I believe I will need an AP anyway to store it on, and like the idea of the stage 1 tune now to get the AP, but want to start the physical mods with the exhaust because I like the looks and sound of the exhaust, then get the custom tune from Kaizen. Make sense?
