2012 Rom on 2014 Evo GSR?

2012 Rom on 2014 Evo GSR?
Hey Guys,
I got a 2014 Evo GSR, It seemed like someone had messed with the tune on it so I bought an accessport thinking I'd make things easier for now until I decide to do some upgrades, plugged it in, and it pulls up that my car is a 2012 Evo GSR, after talking with Cobb they think I have a 2012 Rom on my 2014. Are there any benefits to running a 2012 rom over a 2014? This is kind of making me want to get a tactrix cable and reflash to the proper years rom but if it really doesn't make a difference than I guess I would just leave it be?
