Heyo, so I swapped plugs today and installed a fuel pulse damper.
I've attached 2 photos of my old plugs 1-4 (left to right) I consider them to be mostly normal, but in a critical sense does #3 look odd to anyone? It seems to have a white haze, but no deposits. Compression is 150 on all 4 cylinders, +-1psi
I'm no expert, but some of you guys are. Just thought I'd toss em up to see if anyone noticed something odd.
Car had leaded gas or octane booster run through it at some point.
I would monitor the new plugs and see if you notice the same difference. Also check the strap with your new plugs. Should give you a better indictor of rich/lean.

I had run octane booster through it a couple times when I moved up here, in hopes to account for the 91 fuel I had on my 93 base tune.
What is the "strap"

Good idea, the car was on E85 previously. It's actually something I wanted to do, but honestly forgot about.
Yea, all bets of reading a plug are off with octane booster since it coats everything with that red crap.
The strap is the metal bit that goes up from the threads and bends over the electrode. You want the heat "band" to be right around the middle. Some people say you can't read it unless you do a WOT pull and then shut off right away but I've been reading them for years without having to do that. They just end up being very faint.
You can very faintly seem then in the middle of the strap on my set of plugs here:

I was wondering what that red nonsense was. Good example with the band, I'll probably pull the plugs later this week and see what they look like.
