93 octane to e85

Hello,
If anyone can help, I want to switch over to e85.

I currently have 1000 Injector Dynamics and a 340 AEM fuel pump installed. I believe I need in-line filter and lines installed, maybe fuel rail?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, thank you Evo X Community!

If you are stock turbo, what you have should be fine for an E85 tune. A stainless filter isn't a bad idea as well. You likely won't need to do whole new lines or anything for modest power levels.
Those 1000s will be the limiting factor fuel wise.

The big thing is sorting out the tune.

Ok thank you for the response. Currently around 290-310hp, and I am getting the Tomei MX8280 turbo, will install it in the near future. Hopefully reach 350-400hp range, but I want to use e85 to help give me more power.

Yea, so a quick run of the numbers on FIC's injector calculator shows that getting to 400whp with the 1000s is probably out of reach at reasonable injector duty cycles but upper 300s appears doable. I would probably just keep what you have and run it.

Hey schuhie, I saw that the Injector Dynamics 1000ID are actually e85 friendly, I currently have an AEM 340 pump, so will need a Walhbro 450, I found some on eBay for $50-$100 install kit.

close to 400whp is the target or maybe even little higher. thank you for the help!

The ID stuff is stainless internals. It matters some but I ran FIC1120s for years without issue on my 9. And the AEM 340 will be fine for the 400hp goal. No need to go to a 450. I ran a single 255 out to about 500whp on my 9.

One other thing that I haven't said yet but feel the need to say every time someone starts modding their car. Don't worry about the numbers so much. Mod it for your use case and what you want. If it makes a safe 375 or 400 on the razor's edge, just make the 375. There is no reason on a street car to have a fragile setup for 25 extra hp. The numbers are just numbers and getting the car to work like you want for your use case is soooo much more important.

I think you should look into a VC baffles/pcv/breather setup. i got 400hp e85 1100cc injectors a long time back and thats when I started pushing oil into the intake/IC tract and blowing the turbo seal

Hey Vicious,

on your 400hp setup what kind of fuel pump did you run?

also do you have a link where I can purchase these items "VC baffles/pcv/breather setup". Appreciate the heads up! So an oil catch can/fuel line filter/ turbo filter would help right?

I see you are from Houston, I visit San Antonio every now and then!
