Why in the **** do people do cam upgrades right away anyhow? Pretty useless, IMO.

^Wrong, asking for proof doesn't make someone foolish. Believing without proof makes someone foolish.

It's not my obligation to search for proof as it should've been included in the post stating the "facts".

Your wrong on your opinion that I "flipped" out. It's what you and your "E-Buddies" think, what's true is another thing.

I'm so mad I missed the richness of this thread before it got cleaned. Probably would have been really entertaining. And as far as the topic, remember when hks made mivec cams for the 9 and how much power they made? I wonder what gains there gonna make with mivec on both cams mmmmm it makes me warm lol.

Our target is June 1 to have cams for sale, we have just recieved our first batch of cores for testing.. we were the first to market for the evo 9 (well other than turbo trix's retro) and the X will be two times.

The down side to camshafts on the X is that we can't run more than 11.1mm of lift on the exhaust side and the valve springs WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED. we can't make a camshaft for the stock valve spring as it sucks that bad.

as far as the head... damn this thing is PIMP! the deeper we get into this the better it gets, as long as the bottom end holds together i think the evo X motor will make bigger numbers than the 4G63 ever did.... kinda like the B-series honda motor compared to the K-series ;-)

I figured this would be an issue that vendors would run into

^^^^does that mean that you will make an exhaust camshaft that includes new springs in the future.

i assume clearance issues with the direct acting valvetrain? if so will machining the head or swapping out the buckets work???

also i suspected the low redline was due to weak valve springs as the honda K20 easily revs to 8600 with the same 86 x 86 engine geometry and a worse rod ratio...
