The stock car without the factory reflash made 231whp/254wtq
He came back in with the factory reflash and factory box and made 241whp/252wtq. So the reflash made about approx 10whp peak gain over before.
With the Factory reflash and the filter kit, peak gains where +15whp / +13wtq.
So with factory flash, the peak gains from the filter kit where 8whp less and 3wtq more, but the factory reflash made the car approx 10whp stronger with the stock airbox.
The filter kit still made gains pre and post factory reflash, just not as strong after the factory reflash.
Make sense?
btw, the +22whp/+22wtq gains of before where not peak. In this thread I was posting peak numbers. This could have added to some of the confusion. My apologies.
As I would imagine most Evo X owners will get the Factory reflash or will buy a Evo X with a factory reflash, I would go by the filter kit gains after the reflash. Yes it looked like better gains before and that looks nicer to people, but to be realistic I have posted the after the factory reflash as that is now the reality.
Well the factory flash leaed things out a little so the filter didn't make as much of a difference, but the end result is about the same. So who cares? Plus, the power should be more consistent as the car isn't misfiring up top any more. I have the reflash and love the way that my car drives now. It still needs a tune, but it's far better than before.
before factory flash i had put spectre autozone filter on car and it felt a little better. after the flash car felt slow. pulled battery reset ecu car still felt slow...put stock airbox back on car without resetting ecu and car felt way way faster. fyi
