There is 35% more surface area on this core. The original one was found to be good as far as flow is concerned, but charge temps went down 30 degrees with the new version.
One of the reasons for the drastic charge temp decrease is the fact that the surface area increased and the Tube and Fin design allow the ambient airflow to go thru the core with very little restriction.
When I get a chance this morning I will post a closeup of the fin structure from both cores so that you can get a better idea.

Great I'll be looking forward to those pics. I'm looking to buy a FMIC by the beginning of June and so far yours looks best.

There are so many factors to consider in an intercooler, the CFM is only one and far from the most important as most intercoolers that we bolt to our cars will flow FAR more CFM than our engines will ever be able to ingest. I would rather have an intercooler that properly and effectively cools the intake air than one that flows much more than a stock one.

Lots of the Ebay cores suck in the three areas I just mentioned. DTM thoroughly tests their product, I have no doubt this IC will work very well, the design of the inlets on the side of the core look like they add a bunch of surface area to cool the air without causing much if any restriction.

As Borat sayssss aaaaaaaaaaaaaa laaaaaaaaaaaaaaak.

Got it installed after a few bad words haha.
The only thing I noticed is the holes @ the bottom of the Intercooler for the bolts, is fairly large whole, almost as large as the stock washers.
