i got pulled over when i was running cat-less. It was pretty loud but a good loud after i had the cat put in i think its at the perfect volume

Can the stock heat shielding be removed? Everyone seems to leave it on after exhaust.

why would you remove any heat shield if its not necessary?
They usually weights nothing and they are there for a reason. Not to mention when you going aftermarket , that is usually thicker piping so it is even closer to the body where is the heat shield is placed for a reason...

I think he's trying to say that it's not necessary to remove the heat shield. It's there for a reason, what positives are there to removing it? Just curious as to why you would want to take it off.

there is the AYC and many rubber lines, etc protected by the heat shield if i remember right. I would not remove that heat shield.
and it probably weight less then 2lb. but is your car your call.
