O2 Housing/Downpipe Combo

What happened to the o2 housing/downpipe combos that the vendors were working on? The X downpipe on it's own doens't yield much power because it's so short and already very straight, this has already been proven, but the 02 housing (well it's really just an outlet pipe now because there's no O2 sensor in there anymore) is EXTREMELY restrictive.

AMS was working on a 1 piece combo piece that was awesome, and they showed pics of the inner diameter of the theirs side by side with the stock piece and it was like a coffee stirrer next to a rocket launcher! They even said that the prototype made like 12 whp on top of the catback! However it has disappeared since then and there hasn't been a peep about it. What happened? AMS please tell me that it hasn't been scrapped and if so why?

Is anyone else working on one? It's a worthwhile mod and it makes a chunk of power and helps spool, so why is everyone making catbacks and not true turbo backs? I know that I myself am waiting on a complete turbo back system because I don't like doing things half assed. Either give me a full kit or nothing at all. Anyone else waiting on this? Any vendors want to chime in?

The O2/downpipe combo does make some nice power and will be a great mod for anyone . We have made a few sets here local but have made any for sale as-of yet . We should have some up for sale soon , stainless steel has gone up in price like crazy in the las few months which is why I guess that we just do not see many USA made parts up for sale just yet . We and I'm sure others are working on it as we speak ..

Well it didnt take you long to make this a topic after reading my o2 housing??? thread lol. Any of you venders going to be making the 02 housing by its self. I mean if i have to ill buy it as a whole but i all ready have the downpipe just need the o2 housing. Any prices out for these yet.

Xtreemboost since you are the only one responeding to the o2 housing are you guys also going to be making a o2 housing by its self or is it goin to be one with the downpipe. and can we get a price on it. I think i might have to do this.

But from looking were the turbo is man i think this thing is going to be a pain to install it. If at all possible we should get a "How to install" on this. Xtreemboost you have anything like this on your website?

The O2 and downpipe will be one piece and yes we will give you guys a "how-to" as well . We'll update our site soon with many products for the X and other cars as well . Expect to get a very fair price for a good solid product and as you can see we have been doing some serious "REAL WORLD" testing of our parts which so far seem to be working best

we may make a few set-ups in the next few days to get some you guys going out there so we can get some feedback .

We are casting our O2 housing portion to optimize the piece. This will enable us to use whatever kind of configuration we want. The SS piece we posted up in this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...t=AMS+downpipe is what we are modeling it after but casting does take a little bit of time. Trust us...after seeing the CAD drawings its worth the wait

we are not releasing pics of the cast version until we have it locked down. I don't want to show you a pic and have it be slightly different.

That and our competition reads these threads too

Mmmm, cast will enable you to make interior shapes that are not possible with standard piping. APS uses a lot of cast designs for their manifolds and downpipes as well, and their stuff is great. I think that that's a smart move on your part AMS, and I can't wait till I see pics. Release date guestimation?

Sweet man, I can't wait to see how your design compares with everyone else's. I am really impressed with the quality so far of the T1R stuff, so I am very curious to see your exhaust once everything is finished. I am guessing that the turbo outlet piece is cast, kind of like the WORKS 02 housings for the evo 8s and 9s? Oh, and when are those shift boots gonna be ready? You guys are killing me here! Thanks man.

Is your design going to be piping like the AMS prototype that was shown a few months back, or is it going to be cast? Also, not to go off topic but when is that manifold going to be ready? That thing looks badass!

Well, here are pics of the T1R prototype. Still testing and kicking it around though. Production version will be available later this summer.

Still a work in progress!

and the shift boots will be here around the end of the month / early July

Is this going to be a 02 housing/ downpipe. or just the o2 housing or you going to have both for sale.
