ARC airbox on X

Low-end power dropped a bit BUT from 4000rpm onwards it feels smoother and can tell the engine breathes much better. There's also a swoosh sound of the air intake. Sounds very nice.

With my Ralliart filter element & stock airbox, low-end is good but when revving from 4000rpm, engine sounds rougher like cannot breathe properly...

Overall i'm happy with the result.

Nice box!

I am wondering about the design, from the picture it looks to me that the engine will breath hot air through the top filter????

ARC makes fine products!!!

I also was wondering about the design. Why would you design a closed box with an internal filter and then hack the top of to draw hot air from the engine bay? I don't get it.

Maybe this info by ARC might help to explain abt their desgin...

http://www.arcinter.co.jp/english/ar...tsu/index.html

After adding the ARC airbox, from my last petrol fillup, i noticed my fuel consumption improved by another 20km in total. I'm now on my 2nd tank and will monitor again. Maybe bcos my engine breathes better so better FC....??

To each his own, but a lot of those have been at the shop the same time I was there. I've never seen one of those make power on the dyno in an Evo VIII or IX. They have always, only lost power.

I hope they make good power in the X.

Congrats on the installation and purchase, but I agree with Noize. I had an ARC Super Induction Box on my last car, sure it looked awesome and sounded great but when it came down to the raw numbers it produced, guys running on Injen/Fujita intake systems still pulled in higher numbers than my ARC box – Not enough bang to support the bling for the amount of buckage you'll drop for it.

The ARC Box looks great but thats a shame about it not being able to make the power when it comes down to it.

Great purchase, looks sexy.

People seriously if you want to cry about ARC's induction box not making power make another thread about it somewhere. Don't come onto someone's thread who is proud of his purchase and wanted to share.

Tks for the support guys.

I'm cool with the feedback as they are just sharing fm their past experience with ARC. Honestly my car feels better and it could be due to a combination of mods i have done.

Pipings, ARC airbox

& Trust exhaust

That's a nice fat exhaust. It looks like the muffler is really close to the bumper...or is it just the angle of the picture?
