Fuel starvation on the track?

Had a track day today and on my last session, after a couple left hand sweepers, in 4ths gear, the car started to sputter around 80mph. It felt like the rev limiter, but more severe. Nothing on the dash and me and the instructor both went "WTF?"

I had about 4-5 bars left (no refuel light, but 0 miles to empty on the HUD). Next loop around, no problem, but the loop after it did it again. I wasn't going as fast around the corner, and the fuel cut wasn't as bad.

When I got done, we cooled down and met and then I went to the gas station. I only put a little over 10 gallons in (so there should have been what, 4.5 gallons left in the tank)? The tank was super pressurized though and it kept stopping the gas pump (I had to hand hold it about 1/2 way to get it to fill).

Searching on here, the VIII and IX needed a pressurized fuel tank and pump if you were going to get < 1/4 empty on the track. Do we need one too? Next time I'll just fill up every couple sessions!

Oh ya, 10 gallons = 88 miles on the track. Nice :-)

Ya that happens alot. On tracks with lots of left hand turns, I wont start a session with less than 3/4 tank.
